Strengthening the Church

We see training church leaders as central and critical to our mission. In training one faithful pastor or one church leader, we believe the whole church, its ministries, and community will be influenced. The result, by God's grace, is a church that seeks to have godly leaders, parents, and ministries. Without the faithful training of church leaders, a church is easily susceptible to false doctrine, inaccurate preaching, and unbiblical counsel. Sadly, this is the situation in most Sub-Saharan African countries.

What COFIM seeks to do is to identify faithful, teachable, willing, and available church leaders. These leaders are then discipled and trained so that they might also train other faithful people in their churches and impact the church’s ministry. COFIM does this primarily through the Shona Bible Institute. This is a theological school in rural Zimbabwe that trains and seeks to equip pastors and elders how to accurately handle God’s Word.
